Biodynamic Two Day Bootcamp
Biodynamic Agroforestry for self sufficient food production & Earth healing on sloping land
We hope to equip you with the necessary skills to understand the secrets of nature & the simplicity of her blueprint. Our farm is situated in Mooloo just outside of the Mary Valley, high up in the pie creek watershed on volcanic soil in cattle country.
Come and learn how we healed the past degeneration and stimulated it to revive it's true essence as a powerful ancient machine, through food production, regenerative grazing, pigs and chickens, covercrops and biodynamic preparations all while producing food for our family on minimal input.
Our workshop will be catered with paddock to plate meals crafted to order by chef Yiani from Fountain of Juice and in house barista with a range of alternative milks and local coffee's .
In this workshop you will learn:
How to make Biodynamic hot compost
How to make Biodynamic CPP preparation
How to mix and apply preps in all the different ways
How to work with the moons rhythms and plan your work accordingly
How to read the landscape, the soil and the plants to better understand how to make decisions about what steps you will have to take to heal your land and kick it into hyperdrive
How to work with covercrops, designing them, sowing them, cutting them down and feeding them back in, planting food crops over top of them
How to work with support trees, design them into your system, chop them and correctly process them
How to integrate pigs or other small animals into your systems for meat production and soil preparation
Design and mark out a market garden/home production from scratch, build it from scratch using hand tools (easily done with machinery, but using your senses we will all learn soil characteristics, textures, aromas, biology and signs), directly into untouched earth
Preparing the soil & applying our compost & CPP
Finding contours & designing off contours, building terraces, planting agroforestry support rows with orchard crops + field mushrooms and planting a high density biodynamic vegetable production that produces its own microclimate, mulch, fertiliser and insect/disease control
We will all open up the way we see the land and plants, as one connected system, as we walk around the farm, immersing & calibrating our senses for two full days.
There is going to be plenty of time for Q&A sessions, and to take things slow as we unravel it all, in a relaxed open learning environment
Most importantly you will learn more about growing food without all the "inputs" the conventional or organic industry use. In Biodynamics we see the farm as one living breathing self sustaining organism.
